Ukrainian media will be charged with terrorism for showing the Victory Parade
The Security Service of Ukraine should be given the right to punish Ukrainian media under the article “terrorism” for demonstrating celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day from the declared republics of Donbass.
Deputy Victoria Syumar, head of the parliamentary committee on freedom of speech, stated this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I support expanding the concept of “terrorism”... There must be a clause on submitting evidence to the SBU or the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting. Such amendments, in my opinion, are necessary, and then we will receive a comprehensive, evidence-based and authoritative law that will show that this is information terrorism, and this has been proven by those bodies that specialize in this,” Syumar said.
“You know that on May 9, many Ukrainian channels broadcast the Victory Parade and wrote “in the DPR and LPR” without quotes. What is this, popularization? Actually, who? Those who celebrate the Victory Parade there, people who, under the influence of Russian mercenaries, proclaimed themselves so-called militias? This is, in fact, the popularization of terrorist organizations, because these so-called LPR and DPR are recognized as terrorist organizations. And the SBU opened a corresponding case. And now, if the SBU had transferred this case to the Verkhovna Rada, and this law had been adopted, then they would probably have been caught,” the politician concluded.
