The absolute majority of Ukrainians who took part in a hypothetical referendum on Ukraine's accession to NATO would vote for joining this military-political bloc.

The corresponding data at a press conference in Kyiv was announced by political analyst of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation Maria Zolkina, who noted that in 2015 and 2016, supporters of Ukraine’s accession to NATO would have won the referendum if it had been held.
“58 percent would take part in the referendum, of which 77 percent would vote for Ukraine’s membership in NATO,” Zolkina said. – Today this victory would be achieved in virtually all macro-regions. And only in the liberated territory of Donbass has the proportion of those who would vote “against” and those who would vote “for” NATO membership now become equal. But, probably, in the liberated territory of Donbass, this is the most vibrant and dynamic category in relation to Euro-Atlantic integration, because six months ago, if a referendum had been held, it would have been won in Donbass as well. Now there is a certain equal division of public opinion.”
