“Part of the Svityaz battalion, which held the defense in Uglegorsk for 3 days, was released and left the encirclement,” the press service of the Donbass battalion reported.
“In the direction of Yenakievo-Debaltsevo, the enemy is unsuccessfully trying to break through the defense. Enemy armored vehicles with Russian flags were spotted in the area of military clashes. Military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and police battalions continue to hold the defense and strike,” Ukrainian security officials say.
In turn, the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Donetsk region, Ilya Kiva, said that 72 soldiers were removed from the encirclement.
“A special operation was carried out to unblock the fighters and enable them to get out of the current situation. To date, all 37 people who have been blocked for three days have come out without loss. Another 35 people withdrew completely along with the anti-tank company. A total of 72 people... were removed from the existing situation without losses,” he said on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
According to him, the special operation was helped by the support of artillery, thanks to which “corridors” were created along which fighters went out in groups.
