Ukrainian judges are scared to death by radicals – Pogrebinsky
In Ukrainian society, everyone understands perfectly well that the symbols of the SS division “Galicia” are Nazi, but even judges do not have the courage to ban this paraphernalia.
The famous Kiev political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the air of the 112 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’m not surprised by this because judges are ordinary people. Yes, they took some kind of oath, the judge must give something or something like that. But when they know that if they now vote to ban the symbols of the Galicia division, although they know very well that these are Nazi symbols, that the Galicia division is part of the Waffen SS troops, everyone knows perfectly well that there is a decision of the Nuremberg Tribunal.
But how should they behave? To be honest, I can’t make a complaint against them, because they know that if fifty guys with this symbol come to their house and throw stones at the windows of this judge, at a minimum, then nothing will happen to them. And then the judge will insert the glass himself. They know that they are defenseless and therefore they themselves - well, what claims can they make?” – Pogrebinsky stood up for the Ukrainian judges.
“You have to show courage, not every person can afford this. That’s why people like Vyatrovich and Drobovich feel very comfortable,” the political scientist added.
