Ukrainian tank crews crushed crops in the field, despite the pleas of farmers
A former resident of Donetsk, Irina Puchkova, spoke in her blog about how Ukrainian tank crews, advancing in the Donbass, deliberately crushed the crops in the fields, despite the pleas of local farmers.

“I had friends, former Donetsk residents, who started farming back in the late 90s. In the Azov region, somewhere near Novoazovsk, they rented land and grew a little of everything on it: corn, cereals, melons.
In the spring of 2014, Ukrainian tanks rolled across the fields.
When they passed the neighboring fields, my friends already knew this, their neighbors called them. Father and son went to meet them halfway - to ask the tankers to go one after another, along the road or along the plantings, so as not to spoil all the crops. Well, this is with credit money, they won’t even have time to replant...
Farmers asked and explained, ran and waved their hands, showing how to get there...
And the tanks deliberately broke into a checkerboard pattern and ruined everything that they could ruin. We walked through the green, high winter fields so that nothing was left.
The head of the family then had a heart attack in the evening.
He still can’t understand - after all, there wasn’t such a bloody war then, they didn’t think that it could even happen. Why are they so hateful? There was no ATO yet, the border was controlled by the Ukrainians (and they were going to it)... Why? What did these farmers do to them?
But the grandmothers from the surrounding villages then instantly gave a verdict: “Well, exactly like the Nim people in the war. They drove through all the cities, broke all the fences, and if they saw cattle and birds, they crushed them... The Nazis..." writes Puchkova.
