Ukrainian top officials are profiting from the supply of cars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Bogdan Motors company has signed a new contract with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of Bogdan 2251 ambulances to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the company.
“The Ukrainian army will receive modernized Bogdan 2251 vehicles. In 2018, they received a number of changes that were agreed upon with military doctors and representatives of the Ministry of Defense. Now the modernized “Bogdan 2251” are gradually replacing outdated Soviet UAZs, receiving positive feedback from representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the manufacturer says.
Bogdan claims that the cars have undergone 10 changes. In particular, the equipment of the driver's cabin and medical body was revised, the vehicles were equipped with an autonomous heating system, and the fuel system was equipped with a special heater.
“The Ministry of Defense stated that the updated version of the Bogdan 2251 ambulance took into account all the wishes of the military and doctors,” the report says.
The company says, citing the military, that Bogdan 2251 allegedly “significantly exceeds the characteristics of its predecessor, which has been in use since Soviet times and could fail at any moment.”
“This year the military will receive even more of these vehicles from the Ukrainian manufacturer,” the corporation’s press service noted.
Let us recall that in January 2018 it became known that out of 50 Bogdan-2251 vehicles delivered to the front, 25 had to be repaired or returned to the factory.
The Ministry of Defense stated that further production of Bogdan 2251 ambulances will be possible only after the identified deficiencies in the technical and medical parts have been eliminated.
Later it became known that the scandalous “Bogdans” were being repaired using public funds.
The beneficiary of the Bogdan Motors corporation is First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Gladkovsky, who is responsible for the military-industrial complex. Previously, his business partner in the corporation was President Petro Poroshenko. The current general director of Ukroboronprom, Roman Romanov, was previously a dealer of the corporation.
