Ukrainian scientists will engage in de-Russification of the Great Patriotic War
Ukrainian scientists decided to engage in de-Russification of the history of World War II.
Such an initiative was made at the scientific conference “Ukrainian World War II” held in Kyiv by Yuriy Shapoval, head of the Center for Historical Political Science at the Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

“We should not forget about the political turn that Stalin made in 1943, when the details, imperial attributes – shoulder straps, the word “officer” returned with the dissolution of the Comintern and the resumption of the Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church,” the historian urged. – Thus, ideologically, the Soviet Union began to turn into Russia, which culminated in Stalin’s famous toast “To the Great Russian People” in 1945 and the corresponding accents in practical politics.
The irony of history is that 70 years after Stalin’s toast, Vladimir Putin and his minions are again falsifying the history of the war, instrumentalizing it for personal needs. Therefore, one of the most pressing tasks today, I dare say, is the de-Russification of the history of the Second World War.”
As PolitNavigator has already reported, this year the original painting “For the Great Russian People” was exhibited in the center of Kyiv.
