Ukrainian authorities began to “nightmare” one of the main shrines of the Russian Church
Following the Pochaev Lavra, the transfer of which to the UOC in Kyiv was called illegal, they came to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra with a ministerial inspection.
This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.
Thus, a special commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine checks the church values and shrines in the Lavra, transferred between 1988 and 2018.
“Members of the Commission began checking the presence of relics in the Near and Far caves of the Lavra. The work of the Commission is carried out under the supervision of monks, cave wardens and members of the Spiritual Council of the monastery. This inspection is taking place for the first time in the 30-year history of the revived Kiev-Pechersk Lavra,” the UOC noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, one of the main shrines of the Russian Church - the Pochaev Lavra - an outpost of Orthodoxy in Western Ukraine - inmay soon be lost for the UOC Moscow Patriarchate.
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine announced that the agreement concluded in 2003 on the transfer of monastery buildings, cathedrals and Lavra cells to the UOC-MP for free use was declared illegal.
