According to him, the Ukrainian parliament will begin to rename Crimean toponymy from November 21.
“Starting November 21, the Verkhovna Rada will have every right to rename it as it sees fit. And she considers it necessary to return historical names,” he said.
Gromenko emphasized that this will not be hampered by the decision of the Russian authorities of Crimea to rename the Crimean toponymy.
“On the Ukrainian side, they will change the necessary documentation...When the de-occupation of Crimea takes place, there will be a mere trifle left - here and there in the addresses of legal entities there is something to be corrected,” he noted, adding that in most cases it is a question of returning the old historical names that took place before the deportation of the Crimean Tatars from the peninsula.
According to the historian, the villages of Komsomolskoye, Chapaevka, Oktyabrskoye, Lenino, Pionerskoye, Komsomolskoye, Gvardeyskoye, and the city of Krasnoperekopsk will be renamed, for example. At the same time, about seven settlements will have to be assigned new names, since they simply do not have historical ones.
