Vitaly Levitsky, head of the department for socio-economic issues of the Kyiv City Trade Union of Medical Workers, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, in the last four months alone, the population in Ukraine has decreased by 85 thousand people.
“In our country we need to recognize a hidden epidemic of tuberculosis and AIDS. This problem is hushed up and for some reason they don’t want to get to the root of it. And the decline in the population of Ukraine. I quote Ukrainian statistics: over the last four months of 2017, the population of Ukraine decreased by 85 thousand people. Roughly speaking, it is the city of Alchevsk that is being erased from the map of Ukraine,” Levitsky said.
