Ukrainian authorities announced the detention of a group of saboteurs in Uzhgorod, who allegedly, under the guise of territorial defense militants, were preparing an attempt on the life of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Viktor Mikita, writes about the detention of the DRG.
The media, citing Transcarpathian journalist Vitaliy Hlagola, share details: according to intelligence services, under the guise of a territorial defense detachment, saboteurs were supposed to move to Kyiv and sabotage the government quarter there, including an attempt on Zelensky. The journalist claims that the group consisted of about 25 people.
Political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky draws attention to the fact that the DRG was not accidentally discovered in western Ukraine.
“This means that either Zelensky has not been in Kyiv for a long time, or counterintelligence is planting a false trail in the media. And who needs it? If anyone benefits from committing an assassination attempt on Zelensky, it is his own. And the place will be freed up and they will make a martyr out of him. Zelensky, be afraid of your friends,” Sosnovsky comments.
