“The diving and underwater demining group of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev region is working on the implementation of the Regional Target Program for the protection of the population and territories from man-made and natural emergencies for 2013-2017 and the Plan for demining the Black Sea within the region.” , says the message.

“Mine clearance work is an important area of ​​activity for our Service. They are held annually, from early spring until autumn, as long as weather conditions permit. As practice shows, every time we discover new places where explosive objects from past wars remain. And this year is no exception either. Therefore, on the eve of the holiday season, we will carry out work to destroy dangerous finds in order to protect people during the period of mass holidays,” the press service quotes the head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev region, Maxim Gritsaenko.

It is reported that from April 5 to April 15, the discovered ammunition will be seized, transported and neutralized through a controlled detonation. To date, in the sea area near Berezan Island and on the coast, experts have identified 58 explosive objects, including 28 artillery shells, 14 fuses and 18 other explosive objects.
