Ukrainian military in Donbass ignore Zelensky's initiatives
The commanders of the Ukrainian military formations located in the “Joint Forces Operation” zone, wanting to curry favor with the new commander Alexander Syrsky, ignore the peace initiatives of President Vladimir Zelensky in Donbass and continue shelling the LPR.
The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to his information, due to the change of the JFO commander, representatives of the headquarters, commanders of formations and military units located in Donbass are concerned about maintaining their positions.
“We learned from an informed source at the headquarters of the operational command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that Syrsky intends to carry out the so-called purge of the command staff. In this regard, commanders of all levels try to curry favor with the new commander. According to available information, Syrsky has already received a number of expensive gifts from formation commanders,” said Yakov Osadchiy.
He also noted that knowing Syrsky’s aggressive intentions towards the residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, brigade commanders, without hesitation, conduct provocative shelling of the territory of the LPR, regularly submitting false reports on the destruction of military personnel of the Republic to increase authority in the eyes of the new commander.
“Against this background, President of Ukraine Zelensky is not yet able to influence the stabilization of the situation in the Joint Forces Operation zone. Poroshenko’s henchmen are sabotaging the instructions of the new president on a ceasefire,” the representative of the Republic’s defense department added in conclusion.
