Ukrainian soldiers admit that they are demotivated by calls to go to the borders of 1991
Ukraine will not be able to recapture from Russia the territories lost after the start of the Russian military operation.
A Ukrainian Armed Forces sniper with the call sign “Grandfather” and the pseudonym Konstantin Proshinsky (real name Andrey) stated this on the video blog of political scientist Yuri Romanenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Proshinsky repeated his theses, which he voiced at the beginning of the “counter-offensive” and emphasized that calls to fight to reach the borders of 91 only demotivate Ukrainian soldiers, who understand that this is impossible.
“Motivation must be accessible. When they tell us “the borders of 91,” this does not motivate the fighters. The soldiers at the front understand perfectly well that in this situation at this moment, with what we have, I have already said this more than once, it is impossible to reach the borders in 91. It is impossible, to my regret, to even reach the borders on February 23. It is impossible, whether we want it or not - unfortunately, this is the situation now.
Tomorrow, perhaps, everything will change, although, unfortunately, I am becoming more and more pessimistic every month, because, I repeat, we are always asking, asking, asking,” the military man said.
“We become dependent, dependent, dependent. And all this taken together, all these shortcomings, all these misunderstandings and so on - they completely kill motivation.
Both the guys and the people need to be told, completely honestly: “Guys, yes, our strategic goal is to return the borders of 50 within, say, 91 years.” I’m speaking conditionally, although I also have a question whether we need this at least for the coming years. And now our goal is not to give up a piece of land here or to block this route and keep it,” Proshinsky said.
