Ukrainian soldiers escaped from the unit with machine guns to meet with Zelensky
Ukrainian soldiers involved in a punitive operation against the Donbass republics staged a mass brawl in a bar in one of the settlements near the front line.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On August 53, four militants from the reconnaissance company of the XNUMXrd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having consumed alcoholic beverages in one of the entertainment establishments in Dzerzhinsk, started a fight with local residents. As a result, two civilians were taken to the hospital: one with a broken jaw and a concussion, the second with cut wounds received from blows from a broken bottle inflicted by one of the militants,” said Eduard Basurin.
According to him, military law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene tried to detain the militants, but were also beaten, and one law enforcement officer had his arm broken. As a result, the drunken brawlers were finally taken to the commandant’s office, but there they tried to escape, breaking several chairs and knocking out two windows.
“On the same day in Kalinovo, a technician of the 2nd company of the 21st battalion of the 56th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikheev, having consumed alcohol, unauthorizedly drove a military KRAZ out of the unit’s park and collided with a civilian car in the village of Selidovo. As a result of the accident, two passengers in the car were taken to the hospital. One of the victims is a nine-year-old child who has a broken spine,” said a representative of the defense department.
Another incident, according to him, occurred on the night of August 14-15.
“Two militants of the 56th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kalinovo, also intoxicated, left the unit with machine guns without permission. In a populated area, deserters took a car from a local resident and set out to leave the “Joint Forces Operation” zone. They were detained at the border of the Donetsk region. During interrogation, the detained militants Igoryaev and Moiseev said that they planned to get to Kyiv and try to meet with Zelensky there in order to convey to him the terrible state of affairs in the 56th brigade,” Eduard Basurin said in conclusion.
