“Today, there is competition among military personnel for the right to defend Donetsk airport. It is held by patriots of Ukraine, people who really love their work, who know their business, who know how to fight. For them, this is a matter of honor,” Poltorak said on Channel 5.

“It was at the airport that we proved to everyone that the Ukrainian army knows how to fight, that we have spirit, we have strength. We know every name of the airfield defenders and hope in the future for their assistance in training the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he said.

As PolitNavigator reported, previously the militias had repeatedly reported that the Ukrainian military was suffering losses at the airport, opening fire on each other.
