Ukrainian military stole an arsenal of weapons from the ATO zone

Kyiv, December 11 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Six servicemen, including two officers, stole an arsenal of weapons and ammunition from a military unit in the ATO zone in the Lugansk region.

According to the press service of the military prosecutor's office of the Central region, criminal proceedings have been launched into the theft of weapons, ammunition and other military property.

In the detained vehicle, during an inspection of the scene of the incident, the investigator of the military prosecutor's office, in particular, seized: an AKS-74 assault rifle, VOG-5 grenades (8 pcs.), RGD-5 grenades (52 pcs.), F-1 grenades (16 pcs. .), 7,62 mm caliber cartridges (2 pcs.), 234 mm caliber cartridges (5,45 pcs.), signal flares (2 pcs.).

The senior officer, major, deputy commander of the military unit, on whose orders they tried to remove the said arsenal, was informed of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“theft, appropriation of weapons, ammunition or other military substances by military personnel”).

Currently, witnesses are being interrogated, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention is being decided.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier law enforcement officers had repeatedly detained military personnel, representatives of the Right Sector, and volunteer groups trying to remove weapons from the ATO zone.
