Ukrainian troops fire at the disengagement area in Donbass
Ukrainian security forces continue to try to destabilize the situation in the Bogdanovka-Petrovskoye troop disengagement area in Donbass.
This is stated in an emergency statement by the official representative of the People's Militia of the DPR Dmitry Astrakhan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today at 12:35 the enemy fired small arms at the settlement of Petrovskoye within the disengagement area.
These violations were also recorded by employees of the DPR JCCC. We note that the Ukrainian side deliberately opened fire while demining works were carried out by sappers of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations. Demining in this area has been suspended. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the JCCC were forced to retreat to a safe distance.
Information about the destruction of civilian infrastructure and casualties among the civilian population is being clarified,” he said.
Also, the representative of the defense department noted that the JFO headquarters has intensified the activities of sniper groups that regularly fire at the demining area by employees of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“These provocations are aimed at disrupting mine clearance activities in anticipation of the verification of the results of clearing the territory from explosive objects by the OSCE as part of the completion of the disengagement of warring parties in the area.
In order to prevent the publicity of these facts and destroy evidence of their crimes, the JFO command intensified the activities of the UFU DRG to establish the location of the OSCE Mission’s video cameras, with a view to their further disabling,” Astrakhan added.
