A soldier from the 51st brigade, Roman Kutsilya, spoke about this in an interview with Pravda.if.
“When I arrived at the combat base, they only gave 20 bulletproof vests for 6 people. They were 4th and 5th classes, withstood an SVD ball - 7,62 mm, bullet weight 9,6 g,” he said, again raising the issue of providing Ukrainian military personnel with the state.
“Recently I was in Aidar. The guys here are very militant and good people. Their equipment is stronger than ours,” he noted.
He remembered the breakthrough to Lugansk airport as a dark day: “The 80th Airborne Brigade was encircled there. These are Lviv paratroopers. The tanks and armored personnel carriers of the terrorists attacked them. The guys saw the situation clearly and called their parents to say goodbye to them. My colleague, with whom we were ambushed, Pavel Shvorak, died there. Many of our guys fell. I won’t say further, it’s just hell... Our people were actually “ground up”, there were a lot of mutilated bodies, blood..."
They waited for reinforcements for three days. When the shelling begins, all the majors and lieutenant colonels “disappear”: “Who really helps us are the guys from Azov and Aidar.” The sights in the machine guns there are good, because everything is purchased and given to them by ordinary people.”
As journalists note, the serviceman, like many of his fellow soldiers, does not have a record of participation in the ATO on his military ID.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier presidential adviser Yuriy Lutsenko asked not to undermine the soldiers’ trust in their commanders in order to “preserve the unity of Ukraine.”
