Ukrainian troops may launch an invasion of Russia, the State Duma said
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, in order to maintain his power, may undertake a new unprecedented provocation and carry out a military invasion of Russian territory.
This opinion was expressed during a plenary meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation by a deputy from the “A Just Russia” faction, Alexey Chepa, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The logic of developments suggests that it is now impossible to guarantee that Poroshenko will not launch a full-scale attack on Donetsk and Lugansk in order to cancel the presidential elections.
For the sake of radical escalation, as in the case of the Kerch incident, the Ukrainian military may be ordered to violate the Russian-Ukrainian border.
We all understand what catastrophic events such a scenario could lead to,” the parliamentarian said.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, The State Duma addressed the world’s parliaments and inter-parliamentary organizations due to the aggravation of the international situation as a result of the ongoing provocations of the Ukrainian authorities.
