Kyiv, July 16 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukrainian troops began a chaotic retreat to avoid being surrounded, said DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov.

“Huge columns of retreating Ukrainian troops stretched across the dam in the area of Kozhevnya (south of Dmitrievka). They strive to jump out of the “bag”. Tanks, self-propelled guns, fuel tankers, transport convoys – everything is mixed together,” Strelkov asserts.
The day before, the Chairman of the Union Parliament of Novorossiya, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev announced the encirclement of a large group of Ukrainian military personnel.
“Four thousand soldiers of the Ukrainian army are surrounded, and there is no supply of shells and food... If this group, which is surrounded, is disarmed, then this will actually be a radical turning point in the state of war... I think that during this week it will be clear. We will stay and defend the cities where we are, or after this week we will go on the offensive,” Tsarev said.
