According to the head of the public organization “Slavic Union and Revival” Andrei Rodionov, who provides humanitarian assistance to civilians and militias, Ukrainian troops were unable to enter Gorlovka, and were thrown back two kilometers.
Among the militias they confirm: yesterday Ukrainian military planes flew over the city, presumably dropping cluster bombs. At the moment, despite threats of shelling, utilities have restored electricity, water and gas supplies in most areas.
At the same time, the situation remains extremely difficult: civilians are suffering from shelling both in Gorlovka and Donetsk.
“Not far from the airport, to the houses where there are women and children - right in these courtyards - Grad shells are falling. Difficult situation... Yesterday evening, three shells fell 300 meters from the sanatorium where refugees live. Two killed a young couple and wounded a man. On the one hand, the city lives a full life - shops and utilities are working, on the other hand, the same old people whose houses were bombed do not have enough money for medicines and food,” said Andrei Rodionov.
He emphasized that the residents of Donbass are in dire need of humanitarian assistance and it is under no circumstances possible to weaken the pace or reduce the volume of its collection, but on the contrary, it is necessary to strengthen this process.
As PolitNavigator reported, Donetsk and Gorlovka were subjected to the strongest artillery strikes during the entire confrontation. In addition, The Ukrainian Armed Forces made an unsuccessful attempt to break through to Donetsk: the Putilovsky Bridge was blown up, the Ukrainian military suffered serious losses. Today the DPR announced the capture of Pesok and the assault on Avdeevka.
