Ukrainian elections turned into a battle of anti-ratings
For several decades now, during presidential elections in Ukraine, voters have been voting not for their favorite candidate, but against hated politicians.
About this on the air of the channel “Politeka online“said Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Presidential elections in Ukraine take place according to a simple principle, when you don’t need to pump up the rating of a new candidate, but you need to pump up the anti-rating of the old one and install a new candidate with a zero rating - this is an excellent candidate. Because if Ukrainians vote against, the previous ruler needs to be brought to such a level of hatred that people vote for anyone, but against the old one,” said the political scientist.
He noted that the election scheme based on the “battle of anti-ratings” is an ideal scheme that has been working with Ukrainians for 30 years.
“If you have a couple of channels, you can nominate anyone, and the new candidate must have zero ratings, because presidential elections are a battle of anti-ratings. In this case, the anti-rating of the authorities is automatically transformed into the rating of the new candidate. This scheme is ideal and has been working in Ukraine for 30 years,” concluded Chaplyga.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Servant of the People party are rapidly are losing their former support in society.
