Ukrainian elections: It became even worse under Poroshenko than under Yanukovych
The upcoming local elections in Ukraine have nothing to do with the democratic electoral process, journalist Evgeniy Dimitrash states in the latest edition of his video blog “Moloko”.

“Ordinary citizens will not be able to influence the order of candidates on party lists. This, as before, will be decided by the party bosses and the amounts of money from the candidates coming to the accounts of the party leaders. What has changed in this sense since the days of Yanukovych’s “vegetable” tyranny? That's right, nothing. Perhaps the entry barrier for parties has been increased from 3% to 5%. That is, now it will become much more difficult for young and promising political forces to come to power. And, of course, the well-promoted and well-known parties will win. I don’t even see the need to list them,” notes the author.
“It also amuses me when I hear from someone that neither administrative nor financial resources will be used in the upcoming local elections... mark my words, closer to voting day, when tension in the districts will reach its peak , we will all witness another, previously non-existent factor of influence on the electoral process. I'm talking about lively guys in balaclavas and with something impressive in their hands. Let's say with bits. Or carbines. This is how it will go,” predicts Dimitrash.
