Ukrainian migrant workers will no longer be able to find work in Europe
The jobs of Ukrainian guest workers in Poland are taken by Poles returning from Germany and Great Britain.
Economic expert Viktor Skarshevsky stated this on the CapitalTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Labor migration was a problem for Ukraine - many people were migrant workers, and almost all of them returned. Labor migration has been a problem for Poland, and Poles are also already returning from Germany and England to their homeland. And the most interesting thing is that they have already begun to occupy those jobs in which Ukrainian citizens previously worked. That is why the economy and all these financial flows will not yet recover to the level it was before - because it is already like a “nipple system”: they returned here, but not back.
And this will happen by the end of the year in any case. According to the optimistic scenario, workers will not be able to go again and find the same jobs. And, by the way, all these issues with unemployment, with the return of labor migrants, with a sharp reduction in production potential, all of this, naturally, in any case, will also lead to a decrease in the level of wages in real terms, taking into account inflation.
When the demand for labor sharply decreases with a sharp increase in labor supply, then naturally this will be adjusted towards lower wages. This is the poverty trap that awaits us,” said Skarshevsky.
