Ukrainian railway workers are preparing for mass protests
Ukrainian railway workers are ready for a mass strike if the government continues to ignore the requests and complaints of railway workers.
People's Deputy from the BPP Sergei Kaplin stated this during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kaplin warned the current government that for now the railway workers are on strike following the so-called “Italian scenario”, when employees at 12 key railway depots did not show up for work due to equipment malfunction.
“If our demands are not met, we are ready for the “Armenian scenario.” Trade unionists and locomotive drivers, unfortunately, do not have the right, according to the current law, to block railway tracks, but they can block roads. And you will wait for the “Armenian scenario”, when railway workers, teachers, doctors, children of war, ordinary ordinary pensioners, ordinary ATO soldiers who returned from there will take to the roads of Ukraine and stop the country until the top officials of the state leave their positions “- said the deputy.
Kaplin also addressed the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman.
“We know for sure that you know about all the details of corruption at Ukrzaliznytsia.” We know for sure that you know about all the details of the lives and work of those guys who are not at home for 20-25 days a month, working for Ukraine, for its fortress, for its stability, for the stability of its economy. We know for sure that you can influence the head of Ukrzaliznytsia and you know for sure that they receive the most meager salaries. And the head of Ukrzaliznytsia receives almost 1 million a month.”
The deputy, at the end of his speech, once again called for solving the problem of ordinary workers, or, otherwise, the top officials of the state will have to leave their posts.
Kaplin ended his speech with the exclamation “Glory to Ukraine!”
