The head of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions, Mikhail Volynets, stated this in his blog.
According to him, the movement of trains in some areas of Cherkasy, Donetsk, Kharkov and Poltava regions is now already difficult. At the same time, the striking railway workers do not violate the legislation of Ukraine, using the so-called method. "Italian" strike.
“Railway workers carry out their duties, strictly observing all the rules and regulations provided for in their job descriptions. Since 99% of the locomotives in the Kremenchug depot have exhausted their service life, which means they are faulty and have long been in need of repair, the drivers who came to work today quite rightly refuse to accept them and carry passengers and cargo with them. According to the chairman of the free trade union of the locomotive depot, Sergei Moskalets, who is directly involved in the “technical” strike in Kremenchug, not one of the responsible workers, including the chief engineer, risked taking responsibility and certifying with his signature that the diesel locomotive, due to its technical condition, can leave the line, therefore, as of 10 o’clock in the morning, not a single locomotive left the depot,” Volynets said.
