“There is little national currency left in circulation. The hryvnia is being replaced by the ruble. The local exchange rate is far from the real one. One to two. Russian money is deliberately made more attractive. After all, salaries and pensions are now paid in “wooden” currency.
“The pension that was assigned to our pensioners in Ukraine is in hryvnia. We multiply by a factor of two and our pensioners receive their pension in this amount,” says Liliya Ostrikova, an employee of the Donetsk Post Office.
