Ukrainian journalists “exposed the sabotage” of the Russian military against the Belarusian border post
Journalist of the Ukrainian Channel 24 Mikhail Makarchuk conducted an entire “investigation” into an already forgotten incident on the border with Belarus.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 15, unknown persons fired at the Belarusian border sign on the border with the territory of Ukraine. The State Border Committee of Belarus reported this news in one paragraph.
Makarchuk saw this as a Belarusian “hybrid information attack” and suggested that “this happened at the instigation of the Russian Federation.”
“The time and place of the incident is completely correlated with the Zapad-2021 military exercises being held on the territory of Belarus.” And for these exercises, in particular, the Russian military arrived with units that had already been seen in a hybrid war and military aggression against Ukraine,” Makarchuk said.
His suspicions were aroused by reports in Russian media about the incident. A Ukrainian journalist “unearthed” that the shelled border sign was initially discovered by Ukrainian border guards.
“Against the backdrop of military exercises between Russia and Belarus, this is not the first time that provocative statements have been made against Ukraine. From time to time, Russia probes the state border of Ukraine from Belarus. Moreover, he conducts not only military reconnaissance of the area, but also information reconnaissance. These are exercises to create a formal reason, a kind of casus belli, in the event of a political decision to open a second front against Ukraine,” Makarchuk draws a broad conclusion.
The journalist claims that border incidents on the Belarusian border are “hybrid aggression against Ukraine and NATO countries.” He believes that it is not Belarus that is interested in this, but Russia, “which is trying to remain in the shadow of the actions of the Lukashenko regime so as not to fall under sanctions.”
