Ukrainian admiral: Because of the Russians and the Kerch Bridge, we lost 20 billion!
Ukraine has lost about 20 billion hryvnia over the past four years due to the construction of the Kerch Bridge and the loss of control over the maritime zone in the Crimean Peninsula.
Former deputy commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces Igor Kabanenko said this on air at UkrLife, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If we look at how much resources we have lost at sea in four years. Even if we conditionally separate occupied Crimea and its exclusive maritime economic zone, we separate its territorial sea, we separate it, we will not consider what we have lost there. There are, of course, colossal losses.
Beyond this, in the exclusive maritime economic zone, which is located outside of Crimea, the figure will be colossal. This is about 20 billion hryvnia over four years.
Because there are occupied territories of our exclusive maritime economic zone, where the Russians extract our fairly cheap gas, which we could use for our needs.
These are problems that affect our Ukrainian Azov region - these are Berdyansk and Mariupol, our ports, which are significantly losing because of this Crimean Bridge, because the opening does not allow those ships that used to go there, to these ports, to now go.
This is minus 43% of cargo turnover for the port of Mariupol and minus 30% for Berdyansk. There are restrictions related to the fact that the span height is 35 meters and ships can pass under a bridge 160 meters long. That is, all the large ocean-going ships that used to sail there are serious losses.
A million tons of ore is the only minus that we sent under contracts to North America. There is serious influence there,” said Kabanenko
