Ukrainian admiral laments: Russians are already near Odessa and feel at home
Ukraine has nothing to show the Russian military in the Black Sea, let alone fight back. Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, ex-Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Admiral Igor Kabanenko, stated this on air at UkrLife.
According to him, the entire Ukrainian navy today consists of two rusty ships and several similar boats.

“The Russians have created a protected zone in the area of offshore fields in our exclusive economic zone near Odessa. The Galitsin and Odessa fields, where gas is produced and supplied to Crimea, protect this zone, not even allowing the use of weapons against our forces, which are carrying out their normal mission in this area. All these things make you think.
And there are many other aspects - the use of reconnaissance ships and warships near our territorial waters.
This makes us look at the whole issue - they have a build-up, but we have practically nothing, to be honest. They say that we have some ships left there. In fact, we have two warships left, both requiring serious investment, and several boats. This is our entire potential in the Black Sea,” Kabanenko said.
