Ukrainian actor Benyuk: “It’s time to introduce language fines, like in the Baltics”
At the head of Ukraine, we need a president with the soul of a Ukrainian, then the Russian language will be finished once and for all - according to the recipe of the Baltic limitrophes.
Ukrainian actor Bogdan Benyuk, a member of the last convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from the right-wing radical party “Svoboda”, stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need to take an example from the Baltic states, they did it well. There are language inspectors, a fine once, twice, a third time - and that’s it, everyone fell into place very quickly,” one of the statements of a guest of the program was quoted in the studio to the approving applause of the presenters.
“By the way, the fine was charged in euros, do you understand? – added the Ukrainian actor. And then it worked.”
“But it was easy for them, they have a population of about two million, I’m afraid to make a mistake. And the Russians were represented as a minority. Due to the fact that there were those in the government who were truly patriots of their state, they were able, despite resistance, and there was resistance from Russia, to withstand, raise this issue and solve it very simply. In our country, the exact same thing can be done, but the president needs to be Ukrainian at heart,” explained Benyuk,
