The Ukrainian auto industry is dead, and Putin is, of course, to blame for this
Kyiv, December 12 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – 2014 was the worst year for the Ukrainian automobile industry in the last 15 years. Nine Ukrainian automobile factories were able to produce just over 400 cars and buses in October. This is 16 times less than in the crisis year of 2009, Vzglyad reports.

All problems in the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Ukraine “Ukravtoprom” are traditionally blamed on Russia. There, back in September, they contacted the government with a complaint that Russian cars were ruining the Ukrainian automobile industry.
Ukravtoprom explains this by saying that Russia is too supportive of its auto industry, while Ukraine is not. As a result, Ukrainian automakers are in more difficult conditions than Russian ones.
Ukraine reduced duties on imported cars in 2008 after joining the WTO from 25% to 10%. This opened the way for imports against the backdrop of the low quality of products from Ukrainian car factories.
