Ukrainian official: Russia's benefits from Crimea are greater than losses from sanctions
Kyiv, September 18 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – The damage from sanctions is not comparable to Russia’s capabilities, as well as its profit from the increase in land, including Crimea, said government commissioner for ethno-national policy Gennady Druzenko on the TBi TV channel.

“Putin is a completely sensible politician, so you shouldn’t rely heavily on these sanctions. When we lost Crimea, we actually lost a trillion dollars, and sanctions cause damage to Russia in the amount of about 100 billion a year. Therefore, sanctions are sanctions, and in the meantime Russia is gaining more land, which it has not allowed itself since the Yalta Conference. Don't think that sanctions will ruin Russia. In 1918, too, everyone expected Russia to collapse, but in the end it captured half the continent,” says Druzenko
The government commissioner also expressed criticism regarding the accusations against the Russian Federation for violating the Budapest agreements.
“Russia was not the only one that violated the Budapest agreements. In particular, these agreements were signed by Great Britain. So, maybe we can ask them to compensate us for our debts to the IMF? We need to be very sober and understand that Western help will be proportional to our efforts, and that we can win this war only on our own,” says Gennady Druzenko.
