According to him, paintings by the artist Aivazovsky are now being removed, as well as valuables from the funds of the Chersonesos Nature Reserve.
“They are taken to the Hermitage and other museums,” said Ariev.
“The whole history of Muscovy began with theft. The first happened when Andrei Bogolyubsky stole the Vyshgorod Icon of the Mother of God and transported it to Vladimir. After that, everything just started in flux.
Peter the Great stole the name from us - Kievan Rus was not in Moscow. They stole lands, culture, and people’s lives during repressions and famines. Now another of our lands has been stolen – Crimea.
We all know that God sees everything. Justice will be restored. It will begin with the return of the Vyshgorod icon to Ukraine. When ships, activists, and cultural property are now being stolen, it is urgent to approve the necessary laws to ensure the return of things.
We need to contact UNESCO to save Chersonesus, which is susceptible to attack by the barbarians who have entered our territory,” said the deputy.
Earlier, the new Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevgeny Nishchuk announced the threat of exporting valuables from Chersonesos during a Sunday rally on the Maidan.
