Ukrainian MP: Let's make Russia poor so that it can't support the army
Ukraine, together with the West, needs to strengthen sanctions against Russia so much that the Russian Federation becomes impoverished to such an extent that it would not be able to support the army.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Poroshenko Bloc Oleg Barna stated this at a round table in the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Thus, we really need to raise the issue of countering Russia not only in military aggression, but also in other spheres - informational, cultural, religious and economics.
It is necessary to take into account those who are the owners of economic enterprises, and together with the services of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economy, consider their impact on the country’s economy or possible impact on destabilizing the situation. In accordance with this, it is necessary to develop a counteraction plan.
In general, the general direction of economic sanctions should be aimed at nullifying any Russian aggression. Let's make sure that there is no Russian aggression at all. And in order for it not to exist, it is necessary, together with the countries of Europe, to strengthen sanctions to such an extent as to provoke an economic crisis there to such a level that it will not be able not only to finance aggression abroad, but also to maintain its army,” Barna noted .
