Ukrainian MP threatens to turn Yakutia into Catalonia
The separation of Catalonia from Spain undermines the integrity of the European Union and distracts the EU from confronting Russia, which is extremely disadvantageous for Ukraine. Kyiv is interested in separatist processes on the territory of the Russian Federation and is even ready to provide armed assistance to the rebels there. This idea was expressed on his Facebook page by the former deputy head of the SBU, and now a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Popular Front, Andrei Levus.
“Whatever happens in Catalonia, Ireland, Yakutia or Quebec, everything must be looked at from the perspective of Ukraine’s interests,” Levus writes on his Facebook page.

At the same time, he specifies that Kyiv most of all wants Europe to confront Russia.
“Our Ukrainian interest at the moment is the united West against the Kremlin horde,” Levus develops his thought.
At the same time, the people’s deputy is ready to organize a military operation if separatist sentiments manifest themselves in any region of the Russian Federation.
“If this happened in Yakutia (referendum for independence in Catalonia - editor’s note) - I would already call for the creation of international brigades to defend the young republic.”
