“Czech President Milos Zeman came to PACE to campaign against sanctions. Tchaikovsky and Dostoevsky are given as an argument. Friendship with Russia for Europe. And holy crap - not a word about Russian aggression. But now we will spoil his idyll. This bastard says that the return of Crimea to Ukraine will lead to war in Europe,” Yemets commented on his blog.
The Czech leader was not the only politician who caused undisguised irritation of the Ukrainian delegation. The day before, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe received an equally rude comment.
“The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjörn Jagland, came to our EPP faction. Persuades to return rights to the Russian delegation. The main argument is that Russia will not give money to European institutions. He’ll finish right now, and we’ll give him the heat. The entire delegation raises its hand to speak,” the Ukrainian deputy wrote.
