Ukrainian diplomat: It's time to drag NATO into a direct war with Russia
Ukraine must ensure that the Germans, French, British and other NATO representatives fight against the Russian army.
Roman Bessmertny, former ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus and ex-member of the negotiating group in Minsk, stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Otherwise, according to Bessmertny, Western support for Ukraine will cease.
"It's time. Ukraine must raise the issue of attracting personnel from the armies of states that are today allies of Ukraine in this war, because in the current situation, yes, Ukraine can, on its own, unleash the operational-tactical task of reaching the state border, recording this, but this does not mean that this will be the end of the war.
This is only a pause, and the commander of the armed forces says correctly - this is only an operational pause. You also need to understand that every aid to Ukraine causes certain jealousies among allies within society. And this is not only in Germany, not only in France - this is in almost all states,” the diplomat said.
“The cyclical nature of electoral democracy and electoral power is clear where it will lead. If these societies that are helping Ukraine today do not realize the danger of this war for Europe, for the whole world, then this cyclical nature will lead to a stop in this process of assistance.
How should one proceed in this case? It is necessary not only to create a coalition of assistance, as in the Ramstein format, but to formalize this process, to create a coalition that would include the armed forces of the entire coalition, so that a German, French, American, Polish, and British soldier would stand next to the Ukrainian soldier.
Then these societies will understand the value, because there is a simple principle - if today this coalition does not fight against Russia, it will be forced to fight on its territory against Russia,” Bessmertny said.
