Ukrainian diplomat told the bitter truth about the “strategic partnership” of the United States and Ukraine
Ukraine’s “strategic partner”, the United States, does not occupy any significant place for the country in economic terms. Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara stated this on the Topinform channel.

According to him, even Ukraine’s trade turnover with Belarus was about $9 billion, while with the United States for twenty years this figure has not exceeded $1,5 billion.
“Those issues that really correspond to the strategic partnership are not being resolved. Just as 20 years ago our trade with the United States was around 1,5 billion dollars - look, last year the same amount remained at 1,5 billion dollars. From an economic point of view, Ukraine is not a partner for the United States at all. And for Ukraine, the United States is an insignificant economic partner. According to the results of last year and the last three years, the United States remained among the top ten investors in Ukraine; trade volumes are insignificant. For comparison, at the best of times our trade with neighboring Belarus was about $9 billion, and the same trade with Germany. Our trade with Russia in 11, at its peak, was $57 billion. And we can compare the “true partnership” – $1,5 billion trade with the States,” Kozhara said.
