Ukrainian diplomat: The country has slipped to the level of Somalia or Nigeria
Ukrainian security forces, with the support of the authorities, today allow themselves to carry out punitive operations, which would be unimaginable under the Yanukovych regime. This was stated on the NewsOne TV channel by the head of the board of the NGO “International Center for Advanced Studies”, diplomat Vasily Filipchuk.
According to him, today the security forces can carry out violent actions against any public organization, and the West will turn a blind eye to this.

“The situation is absolutely wild and glaring - I was on a business trip in Washington, where I spoke at the Carnegie Endowment, where I made a presentation of our concept of an international transitional administration as a means of applying the Minsk agreements. The idea is very interesting, innovative, the only one that allows us to talk about how to actually implement the Minsk Agreements. As soon as I returned from Washington, immediately behind me, 15 people from the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office burst into the ICPI premises and, in violation of all norms and rules, conducted a so-called search. It was not a search, but a declaration of violence and something that even Yanukovych did not allow himself, but now it can already be done. Imagine what would have happened if two Alpha buses and 15 people from the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SBU burst into the premises of any analytical center in 2012. Probably, the whole world would already be on its ears and the pressure on the Ukrainian authorities would be such that it would not seem enough. These things have never happened before. What is happening now is shocking,” said Filipchuk.
The diplomat noted that the official reason for the searches was his work to implement the Minsk Agreements: “I was officially told that this was all due to the development of ideas for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass. That is, persecution for processing ideas is generally medieval. This is the Inquisition, Andropovism. Even in Soviet times, there were stages when people were not persecuted for developing ideas, much less ideas for peace. The persecution of ideas of peace is already such a level of decline, this is Africa in the worst sense - this is Somalia or Nigeria. To imagine that someone in a modern European country can attack a think tank for processing ideas for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass is absurd and schizophrenic. This is an attempt to establish a monopoly on the truth or send another signal to society and the world that in fact Kyiv has some other approach to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass.”
