Ukrainian diplomat: “There is no evidence of Russians firing at Kazakhs - but what difference does it make?”
With the deployment of peacekeepers to Kazakhstan, Russia secured its status as a defender of authoritarian regimes in the post-Soviet space.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valery Chaly stated this on the air of the Ukrainian Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The struggle for power there will continue, and this is not the last revolution in Kazakhstan. The next one may be against Russian intervention, to unite everyone,” says Chaly.
“Because people see that the Russians shot at the Kazakhs,” the TV presenter inserted.
“The Russians tried not to shoot at the Kazakhs. They just received orders to avoid this. And so far we have no such direct evidence that the foreigners took part in the executions,” the ex-ambassador was forced to admit.
“But what difference does it make? They shut down the government that did this, the regime. That is, Russia is now the defender of authoritarian regimes in the post-Soviet space - Belarus, Kazakhstan, this is their police function,” Chaly argues.
