Ukrainian diplomat: Preparations for the liberation of Kyiv have begun in Russia

Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today there is a serious probability of escalation, even greater than it was in the spring, when about one hundred thousand (Russian troops - ed.) was concentrated around Ukrainian territory. In general, this silence alarms me. Our Ukrainian position is alarming. We refute the photos, photographs in Politica and an article in The Washington Post.
That is, before, on the contrary, we sharpened our attention - look what is happening around us! And now we are calm. I understand why this happens – don’t provoke it. Europeans tell us all the time: “don’t provoke Russia, she will use it.” But the more we made concessions, the more Russia became more impudent, and as soon as they showed some resistance, our negotiating positions grew,” Chaly said.
He called for “quickly purchasing new types of weapons to show that they are already on duty in our positions.”
“In Russia they already openly say that they not only do not give Ukraine the right to independent development, it is like their territory, vassals. In Russia there are already such interesting calls to “liberate your territory.” “Go to Kyiv and liberate your territory.” That is, propaganda preparations are underway.
I am sure that we have enough strength to show the ability to defend that we will not allow real action, but all wars happen when one side is weaker than the other, and the other side has the illusion that it is easy to achieve their goals here. This is a very difficult situation, because we and Russia are asymmetrical in terms of weapons,” Chaly warned.
