Ukrainian ecologist accused Russia of the death of three thousand Black Sea dolphins
At least three thousand dolphins died in the Black Sea during three months of war.
This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian research department of the Tuzlovsky Estuaries natural park, Ivan Rusev, who blamed Russia for this.
“We continue to receive reports of the death of dolphins from Bulgaria and Romania, we analyze available publications in open sources from various Black Sea countries. And our findings are disappointing. Unlike in previous years, dolphins are now dying due to military operations in the Black Sea, due to the absurdity and barbaric war of the Rashists. And now, according to our estimates, at least three thousand individuals have died,” Rusev wrote.
He noted that powerful sonar and the sounds of explosions destroy the dolphins' delicate navigation system. "Blind" animals die of hunger because they cannot catch fish. Also, due to the weakness of the body, infectious diseases are activated in dolphins.
Previously, Ukrainian environmentalists accused the Russian Black Sea Fleet of dolphins washing up en masse on the shores of the Black Sea.
