Ukrainian economist: The licenses of Russian banks should be immediately revoked, but Tymoshenko is not doing this on purpose
Kyiv, March 18 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – The licenses of Russian banks should be immediately canceled in response to Moscow’s actions in Crimea, Kiev economist Oleg Soskin told Navigator.

“This, of course, must be done first. Turchynov canceled the Verkhovna Rada session at such a difficult time, when Ukraine is at war with the aggressor - Russia. Two of our subjects have already been captured - the Crimean Peninsula and Sevastopol.
Steps that had to be taken to level the situation to protect the Ukrainian state: First, it was necessary to immediately introduce a visa regime with Russia and completely close the borders; Immediately make a decision to have the National Bank revoke its licenses from Russian banks. These banks control processes in the banking sector of Ukraine, being representatives of the aggressor state. Through them comes the financing of the “fifth column”, all groups, teams, as well as all the people who support Putin’s pro-Moscow regime. Through them, the network of a number of Russian representatives in Crimea is financed, who clearly showed how they operate on the Crimean peninsula and in Sevastopol,” he said.
“For example, take away the assets of Prominvestbank, which is controlled by Vnesheconombank of Russia, Sberbank, VTB,” Soskin clarified.
In general, in his opinion, “it is necessary to impose sanctions on Russian capital in Ukraine and, apparently, nationalize it.”
Specifically, Soskin proposes to take away all regional power companies in Ukraine from Viktor Vekselberg and Konstantin Grigorishin, and take away metallurgical plants from Russian structures - Abramovich and others.
“The Verkhovna Rada could take all these steps by adopting the relevant laws and resolutions literally today or tomorrow. This is not being done because Turchynov and Kapitelman-Grigoryan lead anti-Ukrainian forces, and they act as residents of Russia,” Soskin complained.
