A Ukrainian expert spoke about the real combat capabilities of the Neptune missile
The Ukrainian Neptune missile system cannot yet be considered a serious weapon, since there is no talk of putting it into production. The statement by Advisor to the President of Ukraine Yuri Biryukov that the missile is “reaching Sevastopol” speaks of his incompetence and irresponsibility.
Sergei Shabovta, president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Security Market Operators, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Statements about the new rocket as a kind of technological miracle that has no analogues in the world and threatens Russia are a common cliche that has nothing but an ideological frame. Mr. Biryukov probably thinks that statements that the missile is reaching Crimea, etc., should make the Russian side nervous.
I wonder if he understands that every blow thrown involves a counter-strike? And does he understand what consequences the emergence of a situation of exchanging missile strikes with Russia could have for Ukraine? I suppose there is simply no room in his sick brain for such thoughts. Every career military officer must understand that when building the ability to create offensive weapons, any country must proceed from the real priorities that exist in a particular theater of military operations.
It is clear that there are many literate people in Ukraine, including in Ukroboronprom, despite all attempts to completely plunder it. There are some ideas, there are talented designers. But, firstly, given the low quality and high corruption of Ukroboronprom, all these new solutions in the field of weapons, as a rule, freeze at the stage of some kind of experiments, samples. Almost nothing that was declared reached mass production. But only those that are mass-produced and that have undergone repeated testing under different conditions can be considered a serious weapon.
Only those who are far from professional ideas can make such statements and conclusions as Biryukov did only on the basis of some shootings. But making statements that someone is threatening someone is absurd. We understand that the parity of the military balance is not in favor of Ukraine. This must be viewed objectively,” the expert noted.
