Ukrainian expert blurts out which point Donbass needs to hit
For Kyiv, the prospect of mass filing of lawsuits by residents of Donbass against Ukraine, demanding compensation for damage caused by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the hostilities, poses a serious threat.
Igor Tyshkevich, an expert in the international and domestic policy program of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, stated this at a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Under the ATO regime, Ukraine is responsible for maintaining social standards, for the same payments, for eliminating the consequences of emergency situations. We already have cases where residents of Ukraine, whose houses were destroyed as a result of hostilities, filed lawsuits in Ukrainian courts and sought compensation from the Ukrainian state. Formally, based on Ukrainian legislation, this is a completely legal process.
I’m surprised that Russia hasn’t yet inspired the separatists to massively overwhelm the Ukrainian courts with statements. In this case, we would still have to pay as a result of litigation,” Tyshkevich said.
