A Ukrainian expert blurted out the military secret of the “strongest army in Europe”
Ukraine does not create new types of weapons and only “eats away” the Soviet legacy, trying to patch up holes and repaint old equipment. Under these conditions, the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot even come close to the Russian army.
Military expert Ivan Yakubets stated this on the Ukrainian Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must understand that now we are investing all our resources in restoring Soviet-made equipment. Some developments are underway, for example, the Alder complex or the BTR-4, but they are still based on the Soviet base.
Money is invested in restoring the equipment that the Soviet Union left us, improving it, and so on. But we are not moving towards modern models. To carry out modern development now, it takes at least five years... We can fall so far behind that we will be very backward.
We are now lagging behind Russia, not even equal in nuclear potential, this is understandable, in space potential. The defense power of our state in the coming years is, first of all, space reconnaissance, space communications, these are very important things that we need to do.
You need to understand that we are a missile state, but we do not have a missile shield, and we cannot manage in today’s war without the missile component,” laments Yakubets.
