Ukrainian general called for urgent negotiations with Donetsk
Kyiv, November 27 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – People in Donetsk, going out to protests back in the spring, demanded the same thing as the Maidan activists, and the conflict in Donbass itself became a mirror image of the “guidance” revolution. The head of the Center for the Liberation of Prisoners of War, General Vladimir Ruban, stated this on TV channel 112.
According to him, the people of Donbass should not be underestimated, considering them second-class. Ruban considers negotiations to resolve the conflict a necessity.

“When there was the so-called storming of the Verkhovna Rada on September 20, 2011, when the Afghans went inside and the deputies began to hide their badges and run away through an underground passage, then it was still clear that the main force among the Afghans and Chernobyl victims were representatives of the Donetsk region. They set the tone for the protest movements. During the Maidan last year, Afghans were the first to respond from all organizations. There were a lot of representatives from Donetsk, Lugansk, and Dnepropetrovsk. Maidan cannot be privatized by Western Ukraine alone. You need to understand that Donetsk is a reflection of the Maidan. There were flags of the USA and the European Union, and here - Russian ones. But the people’s demands were the same; it’s another matter how they took advantage of the situation and plunged one nation into a civil war,” Ruban said.
