Ukrainian general criticized attacks on Russian oil depots
Strikes by Ukrainian drones on oil depots in Crimea and on the Russian mainland are PR that will not lead to tangible results.
Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, such strikes would have to be carried out if the Armed Forces of Ukraine approached Crimea in order to disrupt the logistics and resources of the Russian Armed Forces.
“The destruction of one oil depot does not reduce the capabilities of the Russian Federation, because everything that we saw that burned and is burning in Taman, directly through the use of their tankers and fuel carriers across the Crimean Bridge, they can import it and accumulate it, renew their resources.
Therefore, this would lead to great success if it were a day or two before our attack on Crimea, but at the moment it simply gives the enemy the opportunity to draw conclusions about the holes that exist in their counterintelligence regime and reliably patch them up.
I will say this: strikes must be struck when they paralyze the Russians, and they do not have time to restore their strength and capabilities, as regards logistics or control systems. Therefore, you need to beat when you need to beat, and not beat for the sake of PR that we burned there,” Krivonos said.
